The Necklace Nebula

In the region of Sagitta, there is the "Necklace Nebula," discovered in 2005.  NASA describes it as a "cosmic jewel."  It is a planetary nebula located about 15,000 light-years away.

However, since Sisask composed his Sagitta in the 1980s,  he would not have known of this nebula’s existence at the time.

Sagitta is the third smallest constellation in the sky,  located between Cygnus and Aquila.  Its balanced shape makes it relatively easy to find.  Since ancient Greek times,  people have imagined this constellation as an arrow.  Nestled within the Milky Way,  Sagitta is surrounded by countless stars that fill the space around it, creating a lively and vibrant scene.  This is especially evident in images of the globular cluster M71, which appears to overlap with Sagitta.

Sisask’s image for Sagitta is "Agitation."

The music carries a sense of rapid motion, like arrows whizzing through the air.  Yet, perhaps it also reflects a sense of agitation,  as if Sagitta itself is unsettled,  trembling within the countless stars of the Milky Way.
